Winters in Pakistan: Battling the Chill
As winter sets in across Pakistan, icy winds grip the northern hills, and temperatures drop in the plains. For many, winter means cozy homes and warm clothes. But for countless others, it is a tough fight for survival. Families in remote areas face freezing cold without basic necessities. Children sleep on hard floors with thin blankets, while elders shiver through long nights, hoping for relief
The Struggles of Winter in Pakistan
In regions like Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, temperatures often fall below freezing. Many families, already living in poverty, are unprepared for the cold. Without warm clothes, bedding, or heating, the winter becomes life-threatening.
Snow-covered villages may look beautiful, but behind the scenes, blocked roads and food shortages make life difficult. People in these areas struggle to access medical help and basic supplies. Daily wage earners, who lose work during winter, face even greater challenges. Vulnerable groups, like orphans, widows, and the elderly, suffer the most, relying on timely aid to survive.
How Alkhidmat Foundation Helps
Amid these challenges, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan works tirelessly to provide relief during winter. Their Winter Relief Campaign reaches out to the most affected communities across the country.
